Client – Carmike Cinemas, Inc.
Project – Develop an easy-to-update, visually-striking, backlit menu sign incorporating the latest in digital POS messaging displays.
Challenge – When Carmike approached Schult with their challenge, few digital displays were being utilized at the point of sale. Schult researched the opportunity and knew the resulting technology needed to be extremely vibrant, easy-to-maintain and low-profile (overall sign needed to be 3” deep or less). In addition, the menu sign needed to be versatile with parts that could be interchanged quickly and easily as items and/or prices needed updating.
Schult Solution – Schult recommended a design that incorporated three interchangeable components to maintain flexibility: a Menu Module to display item pricing, a Food Combo Module to display popular food combinations and a LCD Display Module for custom POS & institutional programming. Schult added 3-D, neon and halo effects using backlighting and the exclusive ARTLITE illumination process to add visual appeal. Specially designed logo stand-offs completed the system design.
The Result – Carmike Cinemas has a start-of-the-industry concession messaging system with an updated, fresh design. Schult remains a trusted partner for their on-going theatre product development and execution needs.
